The City of Santa Barbara is working on a plan to protect our community from the growing threat of wildfire.

Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)

The City completed a Wildland Fire Plan in 2004 aimed at mitigating wildland fire impacts. Recent California fires that have devastated urban communities have heightened our community’s perception of our vulnerability to wildfire. The Santa Barbara City Fire Department has been awarded a $310,000 Cal Fire grant to update the existing Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) and programmatic Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

Help us create a safer community.

Any good plan depends on the participation of those most effected. Please subscribe to our mailing list to receive updates on the CWPP and more information about how to participate in the planning process.
